Has it been confirmed that Chris will be the new James T Kirk? I heard there was another film that he would be going for, meaning that Star Trek might not happen for him? (Just heard that Simon Pegg is going to be Bones!)

Just confirmed on the radio that Chris Pine WILL be James T Kirk in the movie.

"Pine joins a cast that includes Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana and John Cho. The studio is targeting a Christmas Day 2008 release."

"Little-known actor Chris Pine has been chosen to play the young Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movie.
Pine had to turn down a role opposite George Clooney in the film White Jazz in order to play Kirk because of a clash of filming schedules."
